A pretty seaside town on Vietnam’s southeast coast, Vung Tau & Mui Ne have been a popular holiday destination for locals and travelers alike for some time. Over the last fifteen years, tourism has built steadily in the area and now the pristine crescent bay is lined with resorts and restaurants, filled with happy holidaymakers. All the action is arranged along the main road which is well serviced with taxis and itss easy to get from one end of town to the other. With plenty of activities available, there is never a dull moment. Surrounding the town are areas of natural beauty from mini canyons to saharan sand dunes – perfect for an afternoon of sliding. Get a taste for local life amongst the bustle of the market or the aromas of the fish sauce plant. Most popular, of course is the Mui Ne’s sandy beach and rolling waves, welcoming watery thrillseekers and surfers as well as those those in search of a restful, relaxing sunbathe or a dip in the ocean.

You will be picked up from the hotel lobby, then take 1.5 hour drive to Vung Tau, a large tourist center which has over 100km seashore with beautiful swimming beaches, as well as many lakes and thermal springs. Upon yor arrival, start your visit the statue of Christ the King.

The Statue of Christ the King, also known as the Statue of Christ with outstretched arms in Vung Tau, can be considered a miniature version of the Statue of Christ the Redeemer located in Brazil. The statue was built in 1974, but it was not officially inaugurated until 1994. On May 15, 2006, the statue of Christ the King was confirmed by the Vietnam Record Book Center as the “largest Jesus statue in Vietnam” and on January 9, 2012 was confirmed the record of “The largest Jesus statue in Asia”.

Lunch at a local seafood restaurant with view over the sea. Check in your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure for you to spend by the swimming pool or down to the beach. Or continue your journey with the walk to Vung Tau Light House, visit the White Palace and Hon Ba Temple which locates in the middle of the sea or stroll around the Thich Ca Phat Dai, a a Theravada Buddhist temple located on the Western side of Vung Tau.
